Library Advisory Specialist, Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC)
At MBLC, Maura supports library directors, Trustees, municipal officials, and Friends on legal and governance issues and matters relating to the administration and development of public library services in Massachusetts. Previously, she worked in Arlington, Weymouth, and Stamford CT. She serves as a Board Member at Large for United for Libraries, a division of the American Library Association, and is a co-chair of the United for Libraries Programming Committee. Locally, she serves as a co-chair to the Leadership and Management section of MLA. Maura will talk about managing policy and communications during a challenge. She will help create a ‘challenge checklist’ for attendees to take back to their libraries. She will also address intellectual freedom threats internally and externally with library boards, school committees, and town councils.
